The Military council forces bombed Mindat town in Chin State from air, causing casualties and damage to homes, the Mindat Township People’s Administration said yesterday. At 1:30 am on May 7, the Military Council forces dropped two bombs on the area around Mindat town from fighter jets. At 2:40 pm, they bombed Mindat town again. Civilians were killed and government buildings and staff housing were damaged during the bombings.
“Aircraft are flying over Min Tad all the time. There are random airstrikes. I heard there were casualties in yesterday’s shelling. Phone and internet lines are still down in Min Tad. We can only communicate using Starlink,” said a source who is in touch with the people of Mindat.
