The KNU Myeik-Dawei District News and Information Department announced that it has captured Point 2566 Military council camp on the Thai-Myanmar border in Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region. On the afternoon of June 10, KNLA-led forces captured the Military Council’s forward military post at Point 2566 on the Thai-Burma border (the Amo border or Point 2566), which had been under attack since June 8 and was captured three days later.
The captured Point 2566 Thai-Burma border post is a border post under the command of Htet Thakha, and was established in late 1997 after the fall of Mae Thamitha (Htet Hta) and Mae Thamitha Khie (Htet Khie) divisions in Myeik-Tharweli district. The attack was led by the Karen National Liberation Army’s 4th Brigade and was carried out by the Karen National Defense Army (KNDO) 7th Battalion, the Karen Drone Special Force (KDSF), the Htet Mopa Forestry Department, the KNPF, the Security Forces, the Women’s Union, and The allied forces, TPLF and FFD Drone Force, jointly captured it.
The KNU-Myeik-Dawei District News and Information Department said that after the KNLA and the joint revolutionary forces captured the Htei Khee Border Camp and Htei Tay Strategic Camp, which were the headquarters of the KNU Brigade 4, in April and May, the KNLA and the joint revolutionary forces captured the Bodhi Camp on the border near Bodhi Village in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand.
The KNU-Myeik-Dawei District News and Information Department said that it would like to express its special gratitude to the military officers, officers, and soldiers who worked day and night during the battle to capture the Bodhi Camp, the allied forces, community leaders, local people, and all those who supported them from all sides.
