The 33rd Division, which was advancing from Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region towards Khin U, was intercepted by the PDF-affiliated revolutionary forces. Today, November 12, 2025 (08:50 am), the 111th Battalion, 33rd Division, which was advancing from the Wet Toe Village military base in Kanbalu Township to Khin U Township with 102 soldiers, was surrounded by revolutionary forces near Yin Taik village, Kanbalu Township, according to a military source. The battle lasted until 11:45 am, and 50 soldiers including the 33rd Division commander were killed. It is reported that 15 prisoners of war were captured along with about 20 weapons and ammunition.
In the battle, the Kandbalu District PDF Special Operations Battalion, Shwebo District No. (3) Battalion (Khin Oo), No. (25) Battalion (Tant Si) Kabo District PDF, Kyauktaing PDF, Ye U Township Duwan Group, Khin Oo PDF, Pah Lah Phah Group and other revolutionary forces jointly fought and repelled the attack.
“As the military column suffered many casualties, the Northwestern Military District Command (NMDC) conducted two airstrikes on the Khin Oo-Kantbalu border at around 3:30 pm today with three Gyrocopters, but there was no damage,” said a revolutionary source. The military column suffered many casualties and was captured, and only about 20 of the entire column returned to their camp.
This is why more than 5,000 people have fled from the villages of Nga yon Gyi, Sha Taw, Kyauk Taing, Kyi Su, Mon Hla, Tha Wut Hte, Myint Kyah, Thayet Taw, Kin Pit, Man Kyi Oh, Ya Taw, Myint Daung, Thayet Pin Pin Su, and Thet Tha Pan Taung villages. On September 22, during the Khin Oo-Shwebo road battle, the Military council members including lieutenant colonels were killed and some weapons and prisoners of war were seized, the relevant battalions announced.
