On the evening of January 28, 2026, the Military Commission attacked Sunthla Village, 4 miles northwest of Falam Town, Chin State, with jet fighters, damaging about 5 civilian houses. The Military Commission dropped bombs on the village on the Falam-Rihkhuadar road at around 7 p.m. on January 28.

The attack completely destroyed one house and severely damaged four other nearby houses, but there were no civilian casualties. Fighting between the Military Council and the Chin Revolutionary Joint forces has been ongoing in Falam Township for about three months. The rebels have criticized the military commission, which is struggling in ground battles, for its excessive use of air power, targeting villages close to Falam town.

The Military commission also carried out an airstrike on the Tibual village district hospital on January 11, and has now bombed the village of Sunthla village, which is very close to Falam town, raising concerns among locals about their safety.
