After 4 Military Commission soldiers were killed in the battle for Sumhrang village in Falam Township, Chin State, the Military Commission airstrikes on the nearby village of Nganzawl, where there was no fighting, killing a 70-year-old elderly woman.
On the morning of January 31, the Chin Revolutionary Joint Forces attacked a Military Commission column based in Sumhrang village, east of Falam township, killing 4 Military Commission soldiers and wounding 3 others. At about 11:30 a.m., the Military Commission jets fighter dropped four bombs on the village of Nganzawl, where there was no fighting.
The attack killed a 70-year-old local woman and damaged about 10 civilian houses. “The plane landed without any fighting in the village. An old woman died and the houses were badly damaged,” said a local resident.
On the evening of January 30, the Military Commission carried out an unprovoked airstrike on Sim Dihai village in Falam Township, burning down three civilian houses. Local sources said that whenever the Military Commission troops suffer military losses in Falam Township, they often retaliate by targeting nearby villages with air strikes.
