The Chin National Army (CNA) and Chinland Government have intercepted a military commission column of thousands of troops that has been advancing towards Falam town in Chin State for over 4 months, and have eliminated over 200 military commission troops, including 9 officers, in the past 2 months, the Chinland Council and Ministry of Defense (MOD) announced on February 8.

The Chinland government’s military columns (2), (3) and (4) are blocking over 1,000 troops from 9 battalions under the 77th Military Commission Division, which are trying to control the Kalay-Falam line. In the ongoing battles, over 200 military commission troops, including 9 officers, were killed, and some prisoners of war and large quantities of weapons and ammunition were also seized.

The MMAF has been suffering heavy losses on the ground, with over 50 airstrikes using Jet Fighters and Y-12s, dropping thousands of bombs. In addition, drones have been increasingly used, but the Chin Alliance has managed to shoot down some of the Myanmar Army’s Force’s drones.

Falam is a key town in northern Chin State and is currently controlled by members of the Chin Brotherhood and the Chinland Council. The Myanmar Army Force (MRF) is desperately trying to regain control of this route so that it can transport supplies and reinforcements through Kalay.
