Fierce fighting broke out between the Military Council troops and the Arakan Army (AA) as they launched a massive offensive to capture Sanay, Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, killing at least 40 Myanmar military troops and seizing a large number of bodies and ammunition, Arakan Princess Media reported.

The Myanmar military column that launched an offensive to capture Sanay, Kyaukphyu Township in late May included more than 400 troops from the 212th, 213th, and 219th Battalions of the 11th Army Division. The army columns formed a tactical column and attacked from the Taung Maw Nayok Camp using a large number of ground, naval, and air support.

On May 28, May 29, and May 30, the army used drones, Air strikes and heavy artillery fire from naval vessels were used, and at least 40 military personnel were killed and many bodies and ammunition were seized. So far, the Arakan Army (AA) has been successfully defeating the resistance and counterattacks with tactical precision, while the military council’s lines are in disarray and retreating.
