A joint Chin State Council force, including the Chin National Army (CNA), attacked a Ruavazung Military Council camp near Hakha at 9:30 am today (November 30), killing 11 including a battalion commander with the rank of major and capturing 19 members of the military council.
“The camp is not far from Hakha. They attacked early this morning. There has been no official news, but as far as we know, the battalion commander is dead. 19 have been captured with weapons. The military council is shelling the area with air and artillery,” said a Chin media source in Hakha. Another Chin Media source also reported that ” 11 bodies of military council soldiers and among the dead were a battalion commander and a police chief from the military council. The military council captured 19 prisoners of war and more than 30 weapons during the fighting,” he said.
The Military Council reportedly provided air support during the fighting. The Chin news source also said that fighting is still ongoing in the area. The CNA and its allies have not officially released any news about the fighting as of this evening. The CNA and its allies also attacked Point-3 Hill, which is a military council stronghold between Thantlang and Hakha, in the second week of November and captured it on November 26. In addition, the Chin People’s Defense Force-Hakha (CDF-Hakha) is also reported to be conducting fighting in Hakha under the name of Rung Operation.
On October 28, the People’s Defense Force- Hakha (CDF-Hakha) said that four prisoners of war, including a major, were captured during the fighting in the Kiamtlang camp near Hakha. The Chin Brotherhood Alliance is also reportedly currently fighting the Mindat and the battle for Falam town.
