Over 100 Non-CDM personnel in Tonzang Township, Chin State have surrendered to the public, and more than 30 people have been evacuated, according to an official from the Tonzang Township People’s Administration.

In August, over 100 Non-CDM personnel from the General Administration, Education, Health, and Audit departments under the military council in Tonzang Township, Chin State contacted the Tonzang Township People’s Administration and surrendered. After screening those who surrendered, more than 30 of them signed a surrender and were sent to a safe place. Similarly, two police officers working at the Tonzang Township Police Station and a police officer working in Tamu District, Sagaing Region also contacted the Tonzang Township People’s Administration and surrendered unarmed.

“The police are 2 from Tonzang Township Police Station and 1 from Tamu District. They are not armed. More than 100 Non-CDMs in Tonzang Township have been exposed. More than 30 have been arrested, and the rest are still being investigated according to the policy. By department, they are mostly from the General Administration, Education, Health, and Accounting Departments.” An official from the Tonzang Township People’s Administration said.

Non-CDM personnel have said that it is time to boldly dismantle the Military Council of Terrorists and work with the people to rebuild the country. Non-CDMs under the Military Council of Terrorists who want to come forward to the people are being investigated by the Township CDM Committee and People’s Administration in accordance with the Chin State CDM policy.
