President-elect Donald Trump has been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year, according to the magazine’s annual list. Time editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs announced the selection Thursday morning on NBC’s Today Show. For better or worse, Trump has had the most impact on news, Jacobs said. Trump was also Time magazine’s Person of the Year for 2016.

The magazine also considered Vice President Kimberly Harris, X Social Media founder Elon Musk, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, for the 2024 Person of the Year award. Trump first appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1989.

The Associated Press also reported that Trump has falsely claimed that he is the most covered person.
The Washington Post reported in 2017 that fake magazine covers and photos of him were hung on his golf courses, according to the Associated Press.
