The Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) has urged the Chin people to continue their town -taking struggles in order to establish a federal democratic in Chin State. The Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) made the call in its New Year message on January 1, 2025.

It also said that it will make every effort to make 2025 the year of complete victory for the Chin people. Although it said that the town-taking struggles would continue, it did not specifically name the organizations it urged. There are nine townships in Chin State, five of which are occupied by the Chin Revolution Groups and the Arakan Army (AA).

Paletwa Township in southern Chin State is occupied by the Arakan Army (AA), Mindat Township, Matupi Township and Kanpetlet Township are occupied by the Chin Brotherhood, and Tonzang Township is occupied by the Chinland Council.

The statement also states that arrangements are being made to ensure full security for the people, the functioning of the administrative machinery, and the availability of human resources in order to begin the implementation of rehabilitation activities in the occupied towns and townships.

The ICNCC was formed on April 13, 2021 by the Chin State Hluttaw representatives who won the 2020 election, the Chin National Front (CNF), Chin political parties, and civil society organizations. In 2023, the Chin National Front (CNF) withdrew from membership.
