The CDF-Matupi Brigade 2, Chin State based militia in Matupi Township, announced on January 8 that 8 members, including 2 commanders, have joined Brigade 1. There are two CDF-Matupi brigades in Matupi Township, with Brigade 1 having military and political cooperation with the ICNCC / Chin Brotherhood (CB), while Brigade 2 has military and political cooperation with the Chinland Council (CC).
The Chin State Defense Force – Matupi (CDF- Matupi) Brigade 2, which is committed to unity, said that 2 commanders and 6 comrades joined Brigade 1, in November and December 2024 and was welcomed in accordance with Brigade 1’s policies and regulations. Regarding this matter, “We cannot disclose the names yet. Some came in pairs and some came alone.” The CDF-Matupi Brigade 1 official, Salai Bawi Uk, said.
In the statement of the Brigade 1, all Matupi revolutionary comrades are requested to join the defense forces that are working hard to rebuild Matupi by March 31, 2025. Regarding this issue, Salai Bawi Uk of the Brigade 1 said, “We welcome it, but if the other party does not cooperate in the reconstruction of Matupi and continues to interfere, Matupi Township will be left behind in public services and regional development. We invite you to join us in the reconstruction of Matupi as soon as possible.”
The CDF-Matupi Township, which is now free of Military councils, will not tolerate any further armed conflict, and the Brigade 1 always welcomes battalions that want to unite CDF-Matupi. The Alliance, including the Arakan Army, and the Chin Brotherhood (CB) army will take over Matupi in 2024. The statement said that the town was finally occupied on June 29, and that the reconstruction work is currently being carried out by various ministries, including defense, administration, health, education, and humanitarian assistance.
