There are many Military council members killed, injured, and taken prisoner of war during the clashes in Rakhine-Magway, according to Ko Naung Thu rein, military officer for the People’s Revolutionary Alliance (PRA-Magway). In January, there were clashes with battalions under the 99th Division, and 12 military junta members, including two captains, were captured alive by the 113th Infantry Battalion. In addition, at least 10 military junta members, including two captains and one non-commissioned officer, were killed, PRA Magway reported on January 23, 2025

“The main ones are those who fled from the Rakhine-Magway border clashes. Then there are those who joined the war. After that, there are those who joined the war. “We have captured in various ways,” said Ko Naung Thu rein, the PRA Magway military officer, explaining the situation of the capture of the military council members. It is known that the military council is reinforcing its forces in the local military situation.

“We saw the entire 99th Division reinforcing its forces in this direction. After that, they were providing air support and artillery support. In the meantime, there were people who fled during the fighting. So we can say that there are encounters and arrests every day,” said Ko Naung Thurein.

One (1) 60mm commando rifle, eight (8) small arms, ammunition, and military equipment were seized from the clashes. In addition, PRA Magway reported that on January 19, a clash broke out about 2,500 meters west of Gok Gyi Village, Ngaphe Township, on the Ann-Padan Road.

It is reported that four (4) ammunition trucks carrying about (100) military council troops advancing from the Padan direction were intercepted, and one (1) military council vehicle was destroyed, and five (5) were killed and eight (8) were wounded.

Similarly, on January (7), it was reported that a military column of about (30) troops advancing from Gok Gyi village to Khun Zu village was ambushed, resulting in four (4) military council troops being killed and three (3) wounded. The People’s Revolutionary Alliance (PRA-Makwe) is implementing its military objectives step by step and will soon increase its offensive to the plains.
