The KIA-led rebels are on the offensive to capture Bhamo town in Kachin State, capturing three battalions, including the 5014th Tank Battalion, and capturing more than 40 junta members, according to KIA and Kachin PDF sources. During the Bhamo battles, more than 60 soldiers from the military council were killed and weapons and ammunition were captured.
