United States of America, Indiana State at the 11th Chin TV International Awards Ceremony held in Indianapolis, Indiana city, the respected Chin people, worthy of standard Salai Khin Maung Thant, one of the fathers of the world of music, was deservedly honored with the Chin TV Lifetime Musical Achievement Award, the highest award given by Chin TV, on November 8, 2024.
Salai Khin Maung Thant was born in 1963 in Yangon. He is the eldest of three siblings born to father U Bhi Maung Maung (native of Pyay) and mother Daw Khin Hla (native of Than Dawai).
In 1987, he married Daw Chit Snow and had three daughters. Salai Khin Maung Thant has been fond of music since he was young, and has been playing in the (AG) congregation since around 1980.
In 1982, he entered the world of music after playing for fun with his friends/associates. Since 1987/88, he has been working as a recording artist in Lin’s studio, and has also played in bands as a guitar section player. Salai Khin Maung Thant is a member of IRON CROSS BAND and has played as a Bass Guitarist since the founding of IRON CROSS BAND in 1990 until now.
