The Myanmar Star Season 2 Grand Final-2025 singing contest was successfully held in Yangon on May 9th, with Paletwa Chin national Ephraim Kyaw Oo winning the Winner award, Nan Ni winning the First Runner-up award, and Chin national Lia Hoihpi winning the Second Runner-up award, respectively, according to the live broadcast.
The Myanmar Season 2 Grand Final was held in four parts: English Song Week, Popular Song Week, Personal Song Week, and Grand Final Night, with Ephraim Kyaw Oo, Lia Hoihpi, Nan Ni, Saw Myo Razar Kyaw, KD Seng Awng, and Ngwa Chay Tar competing.
The Grand Final was held in three parts. In the first part, the President of the Myanmar Music Association, U Myint Lwin, gave an opening speech, and the 6 Grand Final contestants each sang the song “Min Atet Shin Yah Mee ” written by composer Wai Gyi, the winner song of Myanmar Star Season 2, in their own style. In the second part, the Myanmar Star Season 2 Top 10 winners, Myanmar Star Season 1 winners, and Myanmar Star contestants led by singer May Khala performed.
In the third part, the Season 2 Winner was announced and Ephraim Kyaw Oo won the Winner prize of 1 million kyats, Nan Ni won the First Runner prize of 400 million kyats, and Lia Hoihpi won the Second Runner prize of 100 million kyats. Myanmar Star Season 2’s Grand Final was originally scheduled for April 10, but due to the Mandalay earthquake, the Grand Final was postponed to the evening of May 9.
Myanmar Star Season 2 had over 4,000 contestants, and the Judge Audition began on December 19, 2024 at the Myanmar Star Studio in MICT Park. The Grand Final was held on May 9 after the final round of judging.aThe judges were composer Saw Khuse, singer May Khala, and artist Zin Aung. At the end of the competition, singer Rebecca Win replaced singer May Khela, and teacher Okka Oo Thar replaced composer Saw Khuse. According to Myanmar Star, composer Myint Moe Aung served as the program director, and teacher Tracy served as the vocal coach.
