An official of the Mine Squad said that 9 people, including 1 police officer, were killed when a car carrying a terrorist military council and a reinforcement column were attacked by a mine in Kalay Town, Sagaing Province.

On November 7th, at around 12:15 in the afternoon, revolutionary forces ambushed a car carrying about 6 soldiers of the Military Council who were leaving for the Kalay Computer University in Kalay town. During the attack, the car hit a mine and stopped. After the car stopped, the revolutionary forces opened fire again.

During the attack, the terrorist army column and the infantry column from the University of Computer arrived to reinforce them. It was reported that the Military council soldiers had taken up positions on the mine field buried by the revolutionary forces, so they attacked again.

During that attack, at least 9 soldiers of the military council, including 1 police officer, were killed on the side of the terrorist army. It is understood that the revolutionary forces had to retreat without being able to pick up weapons due to the terrorist army firing heavy weapons at the place where the shooting took place.

“A car that was accompanied by approximately 6 military dogs waited and attacked a mine. When the car stopped when the mine attack took place, they started shooting again. During the attack, 1 reinforcement column and 1 foot column from the Kalay Computer University came from the side of the mine, and the rest came into contact with mine forces. 1 police officer, 8 military dogs, and 9 eyewitnesses were killed in total.” An official from the mine force said.

The attack was carried out jointly by the Mine Force and Operation MoMo. An official of the army continued to say that the mine force is currently facing financial difficulties, so they are appealing to the public to support and help them.
