The Arakan Army (AA) attacked Pyin Thar Kay village, a military outpost of the 32nd Police Battalion in Kyaukphyu, Rakhine State, killing at least 50 military council soldiers, according to a reliable AA source. The AA attacked the 100-strong military council camp in Pyin Sih Kay village, the source said.

The AA has been surrounding and attacking the 32nd Police Battalion of the military council every day, and has been able to eliminate at least 50 military council soldiers in the recent fighting. An AA source said, “The military council has about 100 soldiers stationed in Pyan Sih Kay village, under the mountain of the 32nd Police Battalion. When we attacked, about 50 soldiers were killed. Another 50 are still left. The military council battalions in Kyaukpyu township have tried to provide reinforcements, but we are still intercepting them.”

The AA has surrounded and blocked each military council camp in Kyaukpyu township from all sides to prevent reinforcements from being sent. “The fighting is happening every day. The military council mainly attacks with drones when the sun is hot. Our side is surrounded by everything. The military council cannot do anything. The fighting is being cautious. We are not making any major offensives. There are also Chinese plans, so we have to be careful.”

The AA said that during the battle to capture Kyaukpyu township, the military council’s Nan Phe Taung military camp, They have captured Mindat Taung military camp and Laek Khamaw military camp and are currently attacking the 32nd police battalion. An AA source said, “Our side has completely surrounded the village where the military camp is located, and they (the military council) have blocked the exit. However, the military council has dropped supplies by drone.

During the battle on the 17th, reinforcements from Kyaukphyu arrived. Our side intercepted them and captured 10 bodies of military council soldiers. We also captured 10 weapons.” Military analysts say that the military council is defending the battle for Kyaukphyu with all three forces, land, sea, and air, but the Arakan Army (AA) is gaining a military advantage due to the encirclement and blockade by the Arakan Army.
