A frontline source of the Arakan Army (AA) said that the Arakan Army (AA) has arrested Brigadier General Thurain Htun, commander of the 15th Division, who fled from the Nah kha Kha (5) camp in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State. On the evening of December 8, Brigadier General Thurain Htun and some other senior military officers were captured by the AA, and they were arrested after a clash with the ARSA group that came to rescue the senior officers.
“Among those arrested are Brigadier General Thurain Htun and two senior officers. They were captured during a clash with ARSA. They have been captured,” the AA source said. The AA has not yet issued an official statement on the news. On the morning of December 8, the AA captured the last remaining military base in Maungdaw Township, Nah kha Kha 5, and the entire Maungdaw Township is now completely free of military presence and under AA control.
