The National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defense announced that at least 15 people were killed and 12 captured when the military commission troops advancing towards Thayet Chaung village in Letpadan Township, western Bago Region, were intercepted by the revolutionary joint forces on the morning of October 15. The convoy also included militia and police, and the fighting lasted for more than an hour and a half, said Comrades Tin Oo, commander of Operation Area No. 2.

During the fighting, 19 sets of weapons, ammunition and military equipment were also seized. The 12 people captured were young men, most of whom were conscripted into the military, said Comrades Tin Oo. He added that no comrades from the revolutionary joint forces were injured in the fighting.

On October 1, more than twenty soldiers and police were intercepted by the revolutionary forces near Kampyogyi Village, Maw Inn Ohsuh, Letpadan Township, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and the seizure of some weapons and ammunition.

In the western part of Bago, two military commissions with heavy weapons and drones have also been engaged in combat since the last week of September in Ohphu and Gyopinkauk townships in Thayarawaddy District.
