More than 80 soldiers of the military council were killed during the four-day battle that took place from August 29 to September 1 in the Moen, Kyaik gyi area of Nyaung Lay Pin District, Bagu Division (Eastern).

The military council conducted four airstrikes in the battle of Thetwe, and according to reports from the military council, more than 50 soldiers of the military council were killed due to a mistaken bombing attack.
“Currently, the continuing fighting in this side (Moon area) is due to the military council’s area clearance work. Also, they (the military council troops) continued to march because of the high number of casualties. The number of casualties was not that much due to the ground contact. The death toll from their planes and their heavy weapons hit more than 80. The casualty list is certain. In addition, during the four-day battle, 2 commando rifles, 1 machine gun, 19 handguns, 40 MA rounds, 40 mm bombs, machine guns, hand grenades, and related materials were seized from the military council, according to the revolutionary forces.
The military council troops and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) battalions, special commando battalion, the 2nd Spring Warriors, and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) jointly attacked.
