The Chin Brotherhood has announced that it will form a more compact army as a Standard Army to protect Chin State and the entire Chin people. The Chin Brotherhood said in a statement on May 11 that it has established the basic principles for forming a more compact army as a Standard Army.
The Chin Brotherhood made the announcement after 39 representatives met in a liberated area from April 26 to 29 to discuss the formation of the Chin Brotherhood as an army. In addition, they discussed the issue of Chin national unity and the emergence of a Chin State government that represents all Chin people in the future.
Equality, justice, They also agreed to continue to implement the Chin Brotherhood’s Terms of Reference (ToR), which includes democratic standards such as the ability to create one’s own destiny. They also established basic agreements to formulate military, political and socio-economic policies, both in terms of domestic alliances and international relations.
The Chin Brotherhood announced that they had established basic agreements to work together with the people, revolutionary forces and international organizations at home and abroad to effectively provide public services such as health, education and food security, in addition to protecting the lives and property of the people in the Chin Brotherhood-controlled areas.
The Chin Brotherhood, which was formed on December 30, 2023, includes the Chin National Organization (CNO/CNDF), the Chin Defense Force – Mindat, The Zomi Federal Union (ZFU/PDF – Zoland), Chin Defense Force – Kanpetlet, Chin Land Defense Force – Matupi Brigade (1) and Mara Territory Administrative Council (MTC/MDF).
The Chin Brotherhood currently controls Kyin Dwe, Matupi, Mindat, Kanpetlet and Falam from the military coup in Chin State. The Chin Laen Council, led by the CNF/CNA, has also formed a Chin State government, and analysts say the Chin Brotherhood’s announcement that it will form another Chin State government could create divisions among the Chin people.
