The Chin State rebels have taken control of the military bases in Mindat and Falam towns, Chin State, after an offensive, Chin State spokesman Salai Tin Mi said on December 3. “We started this Chin State operation in Mindat and Falam on November 9. Since then, we have been able to take control of the towns. Now, we are in a position to achieve victory,” Salai Tin Mi said. The military suffered casualties during the fighting, Military sources said the number of arrests and the large amount of weapons seized would be announced soon.
The battle for the city is being fought by Chin National Defense Forces (CNO/CNDF), CDF Mindat, CDF Kanpatlet, PDF Zoland, CDF Matupi Brigade 1, Mara Defense Force (MDF), as well as the Burma National Revolutionary Army (BNRA) and GZA units.
