The Chinland Council (CC) and Chin Brotherhood (CB) forces are said to be jointly resisting the hundreds of troops advancing into Chin State from Kalay, Sagaing Region. The Chin Defense Forces (CDF-CDM-Siyin, PDF – Zoland and CDF – KKG) have been resisting the hundreds of troops of the Military Council in Tedim Township since May 21st to 23rd, and since then, the Chin resistance forces have been regrouping and continuing to resist.

“Today, at this time, all the organizations that share the same goal of overthrowing the military council, not just his group or my group, are now carrying out a joint operation, not just CC and CB. Today, at this time, all the revolutionary forces that share the same goal must come together and do it. If we don’t do that, if there are still groups like his group or my group, this fight will not be able to be fought again. That’s why we must do it with all our strength. The main thing is to not achieve their goal and direction, so we will have to fight with all our strength,” said Chin National Front (CNF) spokesman Salai Htet Ni.

Chin rebel forces in Tetem Township Captured Fighting has been going on between the Chin army and the military council for a week, and is still ongoing, between the Taingen camp and Kalay. The Chin Defense Force initially believed that the Military Council force, consisting of about 250 troops, had parked their vehicles in the Kalay College compound and were advancing on foot with 5 point vehicles, but the current situation is that the Military Council force is advancing with about 800 troops.

There are also reports that the military council is leading a column of hundreds of troops and is advancing towards Chin State. The Military Council is supporting the ground troops advancing towards Chin State with drones, 40 mm and 60 mm artillery, and 120 mm artillery from Kalay, according to the Chin Defense Force. The Military Council force could head to control and occupy the strategically important Taing Nga camp, and could also reinforce Tedim through Taingen, and could also head towards Falam, which is held by the Chin Brotherhood.

“They are heading from Taingen to Te Tin, and there is also a road to Falam. The main thing, according to them, is to retake the towns they have captured, the towns they have lost, and to dominate them. This is the situation. We think they will be heading to regain Falam, and on the other hand, if they reinforce Tedim, they will reinforce it,” said Salai Htet Ni.

The Chin Revolutionary Joint Force has temporarily closed all uphill and downhill roads on the Kalay-Tay Ngin road since May 20 to cut off the military council’s line of attack, the CDF – CDM Siyin announced. More than a thousand local residents from the villages of Mualpi, Theizang, Hiangzing, and Vomsem on the Kalay-Taingen road have been displaced.

The Kalay- Taingen road is the main road connecting Kalay with the major cities in northern Chin State. The Military Council’s Regional Command Headquarters (RCH) is based in Kalay, and the Taingen camp, which is occupied by the Chin joint forces, is reportedly an important strategic base for the Regional Command Headquarters (RCH).
