The Chinland Council (CC) has reportedly burnt 1,100 soap boxes of drugs seized near Cikha town in Tonzang Township on July 13, 2024 at Victoria Camp, the headquarters of the Chin National Front. The ceremony was attended by Chinland Council ministers, parliamentarians, officials from the Ministry of Defense, Chin National Front military officers, members of the Central Court, comrades, policewomen, and allied organizations.
Similarly, the chairman and secretary of the Farkawn Village Young Mizo Association (YMA) from Mizoram, as well as the chairman of the Farkawn Village Council, also attended the drug burning ceremony and delivered speeches. The drugs were seized near Cikha town and weighed 5,500 kilograms. Salai Hteet Ni explained that the value of the drugs is estimated to be around 5 million kyats at the current market price, and if they reach Mizoram, it could be worth three times that price.
The ceremony was successfully concluded by Chief Minister Pu Pa Than, YMA Chairman Pu Mawia, YMA Secretary Pu Para, and Farkawn Village Council Chairman Pu Laramlian, according to Chinland Information Center – CIC.
