During the battle for Falam Town under CB Operation Mission Jerusalem (MJ), CNA has been organizing from village to village in Falam Township since November 15 until yesterday, according to local reports. It is reported that 20 fully armed CNA soldiers, along with a car and motorcycles, have gone to Bual khua village, Phaizawl village, Ngamual village and 5 other villages to organize.
The Ngawn Union Council has issued a letter prohibiting any other armed group from organizing or forming new ones in their area, other than the CNO/CNDF, and it is also reported that the letter has been sent to the Chinland Council. The CNO also stipulates that there can only be one armed group in Falam Township. A Ngawn tribal resident in Falam Township said,
“Since the beginning, Ngawn territory has been inseparable from Falam in terms of religion and administration. Since 2022, the Ngawn area has been governed by the Ngawn Union Council and village elders using Chin customs. It is sad that the CNF/A has been ignoring this and is causing more chaos in our area by brandishing guns. Since 1992, the CNF/A has been openly extorting money in the Ngawn area. They beat the villagers as they please. I am saddened that they are still causing chaos in the Ngawn area. This time, they intend to recruit new members and form the Ngawn CNA group. They tried to form the CDF Ngawn in the past but failed, so they must be looking for a new way,” he said.
It is known that the CNA/F has been organizing and recruiting new members in the Ngawn area from October 4 to the end of the month. It is also known that the CNA/F organized in the Ngawn area last year and urged the formation of an armed group in Falam Township.
