The graduation ceremony of the newly formed Ayeyarwady Local People’s Defense Force (Local-PDF) to re-enter Ayeyarwady Region and conduct military operations was held on June 3. Ayeyarwady PDF’s first training session was held in a liberated area in Magway Region, and it will enter Ayeyarwady Region in alliance with the ethnic armed resistance organizations (EROs) currently in Ayeyarwady Region.

“We are conducting training sessions at the Chin and Magway border. Once a battalion is formed, we will enter Ayeyarwady Region and conduct military operations. We will start the next training sessions next month,” said Sai Wai Lin, head of Ayeyarwady Local PDF. A total of 89 trainees graduated from the military training, and Ayeyarwady PDF Military Training Session No. 2 will be held next July.

The Ayeyarwady Local PDF is named Ayeyarwady Local PDF because it will fight for Ayeyarwady Region, and will soon join hands with the revolutionary groups in Ayeyarwady Region, according to the Ayeyarwady Local PDF official. “We are calling it Ayeyarwady because it is for Ayeyarwady. We also have a connection with the ministry. When the time comes, we plan to return to the ministry. We will soon join hands with the revolutionary groups in Ayeyarwady Region,” said Sai Wai Lin, the Ayeyarwady Local PDF official.

In addition, the Ayeyarwady Local PDF is currently assisting the needs of the local people and has informed them that they will be able to help with the needs of weapons and ammunition if they return to Ayeyarwady Region. “We have always been united with our comrades in the Ayeyarwady Region. We don’t want to be a single entity, but we want the revolutionary groups in the Ayeyarwady Region to be strong. We have a few things we want to achieve,” said Sai Wai Lin, head of the Ayeyarwady Local PDF.
