The Chin resistance force temporarily stationed in Zawngkong village, Tedim Township, Chin State, was attacked by the Military Commission troops advancing towards Falam, resulting in the death of four Chin resistance, CDF-CDM-Siyin comrades.
At around (03:00 am) on November 26, the CDF – CDM Siyin force, which had withdrawn from Taingen village, was positioned around Zawngkong village when the Military Commission troops surrounded and attacked it with a large force, said Salai DK, spokesman for the CDF – CDM Siyin force.
“At early morning (03:00am) on the 26th November, there was a fierce battle. They surrounded Zawngkong village with a large force and started firing. Four of our comrades were there. When the column from Tedim reached Taingen, the column from Kalay, which was stranded at Mualpi, joined Taingen and then gradually advanced towards Falam. We have temporarily withdrawn from Taingen, so we are taking up positions around Zawngkong village for a while,” said Salai D.K.
The bodies of the fallen comrades have not yet been recovered, and there was no fighting today, November 28. Yesterday, November 27, the Military Commission Army carried out some airstrikes with Y-12s on Zawngkong, Valung and New Sungpi villages, and there was also some artillery fire from Kalay.
On the last November 23, the Military Commission conducted airstrikes near Taingen, and on November 24, a large force of troops advanced from Taingen towards Falam. The Chin Revolutionary Joint Force is said to have resisted the Taingen and Wei bula military commissions, which are heading towards Falam.
