The military junta and the Pyusaw htee who had advanced into the western part of Khin Oo Township, Shwebo District, Sagaing Region, were defeated by the Revolutionary forces on November 12 and 23 until their lines were broken, and then retreated towards Kantbalu Township in the afternoon of November 27, according to local sources.
After being attacked, the military junta, which was stationed in Monhla village, Khin Oo Township, withdrew to Aung Tharyar Pyusaw htee Camp in Ye U Township and Kabo Ywa Pyusaw Htee Camp in Kantbalu Township, and the bodies of the remaining military junta troops were cremated by the revolutionary forces, according to an official from the Khin Oo Township People’s Administration.
“The military has retreated to the Kantbalu area. Now, we are clearing the area. We are burning the bodies of the (SAC) who died in the fighting. We will not be collecting their bodies. It has been six days since the fighting, so the bodies are in a very bad condition. It is very difficult to work. We had to wear masks twice or thrice to collect the bodies and burn them. Since the fighting took place in a field, we had to collect the remains of the (military) groups scattered everywhere. We had to clean them up with great difficulty,” said an official from the Khin Oo Township People’s Administration.
Last September, when the revolutionary forces attacked the military junta groups that had advanced from Shwebo to the southern part of Khin Oo Township until the line was broken, the revolutionary forces themselves had to bury the bodies of the military groups that had died. Currently, since the military and the Pyusaw Htee have withdrawn from the western part of Khin Oo, the local people who were fleeing the war are gradually returning to their villages, those who are helping the displaced people say.
On November 12, the 111th Infantry Battalion under the Rapid Action Battalion Headquarters (TAM-33) attacked a column of over 100 troops of the military that was leaving the Wet Toe village military camp in Kantbalu Township towards Khin Oo Township, near the village. Between 60 and 80 people, including the military platoon commander, were killed. 1 fish hook, 10 MA-1, 3 MA-2, 1 BA-100/60mm commando diamond drill, 3 MA-3, 1 MA-4, 4 G-3, 1 MAS Sniper, 5 M1- and many related ammunition sets were seized from the terrorist army.
