KNLA joint forces captured Bledo Military Council camp in Kawkareik Township, Kawthule Administrative Area, Do Playa District, Karen State, near the Thai-Myanmar border, at 5:00 PM on May 23, 2025 and seized a large quantity of weapons, the KNU Central Committee said today.
The KNU did not provide a list of casualties on the Military Council side during the battle to capture the camp, but the photos they released show several MA series rifles and heavy weapons. The battle to capture the camp was led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 6, and was carried out jointly by the Karen National Defense Force (KNDO) and the People’s Defense Force (PDF).
In the past few days, KNLA joint forces in the lower Taung yin River have successively captured eight Military Council camps stationed in the KNU Brigade 7 area, and are now launching a series of offensives to capture camps in the upper Taung yin River area of the Brigade 6 area.
