The Military council is launching a three lines offensive to retake lost territory in northern Chin State, targeting the Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF)-held town of Falam, said Salai Timmy, a spokesman for the Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF) on January 24.
Chin National Front (CNF) was informed today at a fundraising event for the Chin National Front (CNF). The Military councils in both southern and northern Chin State are advancing in large numbers, but the Chin Revolutionary Joint Forces and their allies are defending them. The Military council launched an offensive in northern Chin State in early November, and fighting has been ongoing for about three months.
“In the Falam area, the military line was previously two lines, one from the northwest of Falam and one from the east. The Chin resistance forces were also protecting the line, which was between 800 and 1,000 strong,” said Salai Timmy.
In the past few days, the Military council has reportedly advanced with more than 200 troops from the Taingen side. The Military council’s convoy, which arrived from Kalaymyo in Sagaing Region, has reached about 40 miles from Falam through Taingen in Tedim Township.
In the past two months of fighting, the Chin Revolution forces have been able to prevent the Military council from entering the areas it has already occupied, and have prevented the military from holding the elections it is trying to hold. Salai Timmy also reported that they are attacking with full force, but they have also seized a lot of weapons and ammunition from the Military council.
“After heading towards Falam, there are three military lines with more than 1,000 troops. If we count all three lines, we are currently in the middle of a military line with a force of around 1,000 troops,” said Salai Timmy.
In order to maintain the already captured cities well, Salai Timmy urged the public to pray and support them, as there are still operations to capture the remaining towns of Tedim and Hakha. On the other hand, the Military council has announced that it is conducting defensive operations in the Chin state – Magway Region border areas as it is launching an offensive towards southern Chin State.
