The Military Council has once again set fire to machinery belonging to the Triple One Jade Company in Hmaw Sisa, Hpakant Township. The Military Council set fire to an excavator, three backhoes and two earth moving vehicles at the Triple One Jade Company at around 9am on June 3. The vehicles to be burned had been moved together since the night of June 2 and were set on fire this morning, according to local residents.

“We don’t know why they set fire. It’s happened twice. They’re destroying them. They’ve been piling up the vehicles at the burning site since night,” a Hpakant resident told to the local peoples. The Military Council also entered the jade company’s premises on May 31 and carried out the burning. Sources say that one of the Military Council columns advancing towards Hpakant, consisting of about 100 soldiers, is stationed at the pagoda hill monastery in Hmaw Sisa village.
