The Military Council troops and CDF-CDM Siyin troops advancing from Kalaymyo, Sagaing Region, to the south of Chin State began fighting near Mualpi village, Tedim Township, on May 21st. As a result, residents of Mualpi, Theizang, and Hiangzing villages along the Kalaymyo -Taingen road are fleeing for safety.

“ I heard that the military has crossed Mualpi. I can hear gunfire and artillery fire. The locals are running into the hills. It is also difficult when it rains,” said a local. On May 19, 2025, the 15 military vehicles and more than 200 soldiers advanced from Kalaymyo, Sagaing Region, to the northern part of Chin State.

The CDF-CDM-Syin, a Chin armed group based in Tedim Township, also announced a temporary closure of the Kalaymyo-Thaingen road starting May 20. This is the first military incursion from Kalaymyo into Chin State in over a year since the revolutionary forces captured the Thaingen camp in January 2024.
