On August 7, it was announced that 12,629 Kuki/Zomi people have fled to Mizoram due to the conflict between the Kuki/Zomi and Ket people in Manipur state of India. Most of the displaced people live in Kolasib district, 4443 people, and the second largest number live in Aizawl district, 4272 people.
According to the state government’s statistics, there are 38 IDP camps, where 2,780 IDPs live, and the remaining 9,849 people rent houses on their own. Manipur state has been in a state of ethnic conflict since this summer, and last week, 6 people were killed in one day. 160 military evacuation camps have been opened from Myanmar to Mizoram. It is known that there are more than 32,000 peoples who have fled because of the war, and then there are more than 700 people who have fled the war through Bangladesh.
