US President Trump and Qatari’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani signed a $1.2 trillion bilateral investment deal on Monday (May 15), Aljazeera reported. The deals include Qatar Airways’ purchase of up to 210 Boeing 787 Dream liners and 777X aircraft worth $96 billion.

It also includes a $38 billion investment to upgrade Qatar’s Al Udeid Airbase and other air defense capabilities. President Trump signed the deals with the Qatari Emir as he arrived in Qatar after a visit to Saudi Arabia in the Middle East.

The U.S., A meeting between Turkish and Syrian officials is also scheduled to discuss details of lifting sanctions on Syria. President Trump was given a warm welcome in Doha, where skyscrapers in the city were lit up with the red, white and blue of the American flag.
