On October 30, 2024 Mandalay -PDF announced that four people, including a Major-rank officer of the Military Council Army, were killed and one was wounded when the Military Council Army bombed the cell of the People’s Defense Army (MDY-PDF) in Naungcho Township, Shan State, early this morning.
The deceased were 43-year-old Major Ne Win, who was captured from the 7-mile camp of SKTA (2), 49-year-old Corporal Ko Aung of Sah Khah Tah (2), 49-year-old Sergeant Aung Lwin of Ah Mah Tah -319 Myitthila, and 54-year-old U Johnny Aung, a member of Pyu Saw Htee. MDY-PDF said that on October 28, 12 inmates, including eight prisoners of war, were killed and another sixty inmates were injured due to an aerial bombardment by the Military Council.
Therefore, it is said that 16 people have been killed in two bombings by the Military Council. The spokesperson of MDY-PDF, Ko Osmond, said that the military council forces have increased their daily airstrikes on the liberated areas.
“The military council had its ups and downs during each revolution. That’s why they use too much force in the ground columns. After that, they mainly rely on air to disrupt and destroy the liberated areas that they cannot penetrate.”
MDY-PDF said that the detention center was a good place for prisoners of war captured in the battle and that the military council forces were targeting their ex-servicemen. The military council has not released anything about the airstrikes.
Locals said that the cell is located in Hokho village on Naungcho-Mogok road. He said that the military council is trying to control the Naungcho-Mogok road, and since October 29, the revolutionary groups have warned tourists not to travel on that road.
On September 9th, the military council bombed the camp of the Arakan Army (AA) in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, killing more than fifty soldiers, including prisoners of war, according to the AA.
