The Chin Defense Forces (CDF-Mindat) Department of Information and records released today (May 6) photos of the soldiers of the Chin Revolutionary Forces who participated in the capture of Kyindwe town being greeted by the public with Aung Thabe when they returned back to the front line.
On the 5th of May, the public welcomed the soldiers who returned from the battle with flowers and drinks. “The Chin Defense Force (Army) is very grateful to the people who gave them a warm welcome,” the (CDF-Mindat) Department of Information and records announced.
On December 23, 2023, the military council camp in Kyindwe, Kanpalet Township, Chin State, was attacked by the revolutionary forces, including CDF Kanpalet PDF, Gangaw District Battalion, and Minbu District Battalions. On March 7, 2024, Chin Brotherhood’s Operation was launched by the Arakan Army (AA) and the joint revolutionary forces. On May 1, the Chin Brotherhood group announced that the town of Kyindwe was captured on April 29.
During the battle, the military council sent a large number of forces from the air and also carried out airstrikes. The military council announced that there were more than 20 people who had been arrested and killed. In addition, about 400 soldiers of the military council left the camp and fled into the forest, and the revolutionary forces were chasing and clearing them, said CDF-Mindat military regional commander Pu Naitam.
CDF-Mindat Commander Pu Naitam said through social media that the People’s Defense Forces from Sagaing Division, Magwe Division and Mandalay Division participated in the battle to seize Kyindwe town, and the Arakan Army (AA) also fought together and thank all of them. “I salute the Chin Brotherhood and Burmese soldiers who bravely gave their lives for the revolution. Those who remained are still fighting for the blood debt of their comrades,” he said.
