The AA said that the Nah Khah Khah -5 base is located in the Myo Thu Gyi Ward of Maungdaw town and is a large base with over 700 enemy troops.
The base is surrounded by two layers of barbed wire, with well-prepared killing fields between each other, and in some places, 20-foot-wide ditches have been dug and spikes have been placed, It is rectangular in shape and has more than (20) bunkers, small bunkers, and overheads built on all four sides, and there are more than (100) strong buildings inside the camp.
In addition, a stream is blocked almost all around the front of the camp as a natural barrier, making it difficult to pass through. It is also reported that the Arakan Army (AA) fighters attacked the camp with every inch of force. During the battle to capture the camp, more than (1000) M14 mines planted by the military council were cleared, and some Arakan Army mine clearance soldiers also sacrificed their lives and limbs.
In the Nah khah khah (5) camp, the military council members and the Islamic extremist militant groups that they are fighting with, such as RSO, ARSA, The ARA and the ARC-trained Islamic extremist militants, as well as members of the Arakan Army who escaped from the Military Council camps in other towns near Maungdaw, fiercely resisted the Arakan Army with ground and air support from the Nah Khah Khah (5) base.
The Nah Khah Khah (5) base was surrounded for about two months and the offensive began on October 14, 2024, lasting for about (55) days. During the Nah Kah Khah (5) offensive, the SAC fighters were able to conduct tactical attacks and coordinate their attacks with each other, according to the AA.
In addition, according to the list of recovered bodies, more than (450) SAC soldiers were killed, and the SAC Commander of the Nah Khah Khah-15 Operations Command Headquarters, Buthidaung, Brigadier General Thurain Htun, It is reported that a large number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers, including the personal officer of the SAC, Captain Wai Lin Aung, and members of the RSO, ARSA, ARA, and Islamic extremist militants trained by the military council, were taken prisoner. Weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were also seized.
