The Chin State Government joint forces have been forced to retreat after a week of fierce resistance by the Military Council against the Kiamtlang Camp near Hakha. The Chin forces say that Kiamtlang Camp, located on the Hakha-Thantang road, is a military strategic location, and is a camp that is being fought over by the Military Council and the Chin Revolutionary Forces.

On November 30, the Military Council, which includes the Chin National Army (CNA) and the Chin Defense Force (CDFs), recaptured a camp near Hakha that was occupied by the Chin State Council, which killed 11 people, including a battalion commander, and captured 19 others. The Military Council used hundreds of forces to retake the camp, and the Military Council forces have recently regained the camp.

“That is the Hakha area. It’s close. It’s a hilltop near the golf course in Hakha. The military council attacked with 200 troops, so they could hold it for about 10 days, but they couldn’t hold it back on day 1. It’s an important place to take Hakha. The military council has taken it back. That’s the truth,” said a Chin source.

Chinland Council joint forces attacked and captured Military Council camps between Hakha and Thantlang and near Hakha on November 22, capturing 8 camps and causing heavy casualties on the Military Council. 20 Military council members were captured alive and more than 60 weapons were seized, CNA spokesman Salai Htet Ni said last week.
