The KNU air force used jet fighters, light support aircraft, and attack helicopters to bomb the base, but the KNU managed to capture the base. The KNU troops fled from the Khlaingdae military base, according to Thai border sources. “They fled from the camp, the airstrikes were ineffective,” the source said. It is not known for certain whether the junta troops crossed the border into Thailand. A Karen military source said, “We captured the Khle Dae camp at 4:00, and there was also a flight. The 22nd Battalion took over.”

It is known that weapons and ammunition were seized during the battle for the camp, but the number and type of ammunition are not known in detail. According to the KNU’s military zoning, Khle Dae camp is located in the area of ​​Brigade (7). The battle for Khle Dae camp has displaced more than 100 villagers from the nearby villages of Khle Dae and Nu Lao Phlo. In addition to the Khle Dae camp, the junta’s Mae Thaw camp and Shan Ywa Thit Thar are also located near the KNU headquarters.

On March 14, the KNU and the joint forces captured the military council’s Point 1248 (Pulutu) camp in the KNU Brigade (7) area after two weeks of fierce fighting. During the battle to capture the Pulutu camp, about 500 local people fled to the Thai side, and when the camp was captured, the military council troops also fled across the border river, the Thaung Yin River, into Thailand.
