A military source said that the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked and captured a military council camp based in Dak Nai, Tamo Nye Region, Kut Khaing Township, Northern Shan State yesterday. It is reported that the attack on the camp, which is the base of the 123th Battalion, started on November 12.

“Yesterday on the 13th of November at 12:30 p.m., we managed to capture the camp. More than 20 soldiers died,” said a military source. The military source also said that more than 20 different types of weapons, including heavy weapons and machine guns, and a lot of ammunition were seized from the military council in the battle. The Tamo Nye area is the territory of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) battalion (9).
