It is known that the 73rd anniversary of the arrival of Catholicism to Old Darkhai village in Tedim District, Chin State, and the dedication ceremony of the new Peter Church was held last November 24-25, 2023. Kalay Diocease Catholic Bishop’s Mission to the festival, Bishop Felix Lian Khen Thang (B.A, J.C.D, DD) came and blessed the Diamond Jubilee Monument and opened the new church.
At the jubilee festival, two of Catholic priest was also raised to the rank of Reverend by the catholic religious. The 2 new fathers are (1) Deacon Andrew Thang Muan Tuang, the son of U John Vungh Khaw Zam and Daw Maria Kam Ngaih Ciin a native of Tuimang village, and (2) Francis Nang Deih Pau, the son of U Andrew Thang Gin Piang and Daw Mary Cing Sial Vung from Tekui village, Tedim Township. And then 22 Catholic priest to the festival More than 1,200 religious people from all over different part of Chin State were participated.
