The Military Council has bombed a prisoner of war camp in Khuanglung village, Falam Township, Chin State, killing 7 prisoners of war, including a guard. On January 4, at around 11 p.m., the Military Council launched two airstrikes on Khuanglung Village, Falam Township, killing 7 prisoners of war and a CNDF comrade who were captured during the operation to capture Falam Town, said CNO/CNDF spokesman Salai Temi.
“Between 11 p.m. and 12 a.m., an MI 29 fighter jet fired two shots at Khuanglung Village. That place is a temporary detention center for prisoners of war. It is a place where prisoners of war are being held. They targeted a school and a hospital. Seven police officers, including one of our CNDF comrades, were killed and three other police officers were wounded,” said Salai Tin Mi Htun.
The Chin Brotherhood (CB) forces launched an operation to capture Falam town on November 9, 2024, and captured 45 police officers during the operation. Some of the prisoners of war were killed by the Military council while they were being held in a building in Khuanglung village.
The military situation in Falam town is still tense, and the Chin Brotherhood (CB) forces are continuing their offensive to completely capture the 268th Battalion base. The Military Council is also sending reinforcements to prevent Falam from falling and is bombing the area daily.
