Bangladesh news media reports that more than 230 employees and troops under the Military Council have fled to Bangladesh due to the AA Rakhine Army’s offensive in Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State. At present, the military council troops who fled from the Myanmar side are being disarmed and moved to temporary shelters. Today, 7 Myanmar border police have again fled into Bangladesh. The wounded military council troops are among those who fled, and they are being treated by groups including Doctors Without Borders.
Doctors Without Borders MSF said that between February 4th and February 6th, they treated 25 members of the military council and transferred them to relevant hospitals and sent them back from the clinic. Currently, 5 schools on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, where fighting is taking place, have been closed and the Bangladeshi government has informed the people to move to safe places.
In addition, the Bangladesh government has summoned Aung Kyaw Moe, the ambassador of the military council, and sent a protest letter for the Myanmar military forces fleeing to the Bangladesh side due to a total of 2 deaths, a Bangladeshi woman and a Rohingya.
Mia Mohammad Mainul Kabir, director general of the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the Bangladeshi ambassador of the Military Council, Aung Kyaw Moe, was summoned to the Bangladesh State Guest House this morning and sent a protest letter.
