“We couldn’t take it all. We could take about two-thirds. When the sun came up, we received air support, so we had to retreat, so we had to reinforce the forces this evening. This camp is the closest to Kyauktaung town. Since it is a camp close to the town, they are struggling a lot. They are responding with heavy weapons, air support, ground support. That kind of thing,” said an official from Special Commando Battalion – P29914.
The attack was carried out jointly by the 25th Strategic Command, Regional Military Department (Bago), Operation Area 2, Battalion No. 3702, Spring Warrior Column, Special Commando Battalion and the 9th KNLA Battalion. One comrade from the Joint Revolutionary Forces was killed and several soldiers were injured.
“We want to urge the people to dig safe bunkers carefully, because no matter what the fighting is, the army is destroying nearby villages and houses, and is bombing them with aircraft and heavy weapons. Some people are doing well. But we see that some people are not paying attention. That is why we want to ask them to dig bunkers for the safety of their families,” said an official from the Special Commando Battalion – P29914.
