ZFU/PDF – Zoland said it will take action if Chin armed groups including CNA and ZRA continue to commit atrocities against civilians in the Zomi ethnic area of northern Chin State. ZFU/PDF – Zoland said on March 16 that the CNF/CNA, ZRA – EC, CDF – Tonzang and CDF – Hualngoram forces have continued to commit atrocities against unarmed civilians in the Zomi ethnic area.
“Those are two organizations. ZRA and CNF have already made statements before committing such acts in Zoland. When unarmed people and innocent people are being tortured like this, whether it is at the request of the people or because of their actions, it weakens the support of the people on the other side of the revolution. That is why we are condemning them,” said a spokesperson for PDF – Zoland.
PDF – Zoland warns that no organization should commit similar human rights violations against the people in the future. If such acts continue, the ZFU will always stand with the people and take action. “(What action will be taken) is not clear. We will continue to act based on their actions. If they have committed such acts of violence against unarmed people and civilians, then we need to decide how to deal with them as a people,” said a ZFU/PDF – Zoland spokesperson.
On December 10, 2024, some CNF/CNA and CDF – Tonzang troops arrested, beat and killed a mentally ill civilian in Zomi area, PDF- Zoland reported. On February 6, 2025, two people from Ngalbual village were arrested and beaten to death by ZRA – EC troops, PDF- Zoland reported. In addition, on March 11, 2025, CDF – Hualngoram arrested 12 civilians from Bukphir village and Ngalbual village, PDF- Zoland reported.
Currently, 12 villagers from Bukphir and Ngalbual villages have been released by CDF – Hualngoram. ZFU/ PDF – Zoland has been fighting against the military coup in the Zomi ethnic areas of Tedim and Tonzang townships in northern Chin State for more than 4 years, and is a member of the ICNCC and Chin Brotherhood.
