At the end of October, in Falam town, northern Chin State, after a battle broke out between the Military Council Army and the Chin National Defense Force (CNDF), about 90 percent of the town residents fled the town and to safety. Fighting continued for about 3 days from October 25th to the 27th, and at least 4 civilians were injured and a school teacher was killed due to heavy weapon fire by the military council.

A local resident of Falam said that although there is no ongoing fighting in Falam, the residents of the town are worried because the military council is firing heavy weapons. “They are almost non-existent in the city. 90 percent have already left, and when the situation is unpredictable, no matter what happens, we are worried inside and outside. Even if you spend the night in the city, you won’t get a good night’s sleep. No one knows whether there will be a war or not.” a person fleeing the war from Falam to the village said.

It is said that the majority of the local residents of Falam town, which has a population of around 10,000, are fleeing from the war in villages near Falam town, Hakha town, Kale, Yangon, and the India-Myanmar border. It is reported that the Chin National Defense Force CNO/CNDF, which is active in Falam Township, is carrying out the Mission Jerusalem (MJ) operation to recover Falam Township with the military leadership of Chin Brotherhood.
