Iranian and Syrian media reported that Seyed Razi Mousavi, Iran’s chief military adviser in charge of Syria, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on December 25. He said he was attacked by an airstrike while visiting a base near the capital Damascus.
Seyed Razi Mousavi is a senior adviser to Iran’s military and is reportedly advising not only Syria but also Hezbollah forces. Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the place where Israel killed General Razi Mozavi in the air was not a war zone and was not in Israel’s territory.
He said that the targeting of General Razi Mozawi was not only a severe violation of international human rights laws, but also an act of encroachment on Syria’s sovereign territory as stipulated by the United Nations Charter. Iran has warned that it will retaliate against Israel for the death of Iran’s top military adviser due to an Israeli strike.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry also said that every country that respects the UN Charter should condemn and stop Israel’s actions. Iranian and Syrian news also reported that he was a close friend of General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed by the US attack.
The funeral of Iranian General Razi Mosavi, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Syria, was held today in Tehran, and was attended by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and high-ranking Iranian military generals, according to Tehran news.
Iranian generals, including Khamenei, who attended the funeral, greeted the families of General Razi Mosavi and chanted “Death to America and Israel,” according to the Iranian state news agency.
