Iran’s state news agency reported that four military officers, including Iranian intelligence officer Brigadier General Abu Sadat, were killed in an Israeli airstrike near the Syrian capital of Damascus on January 20. Along with Iranian military officers, many high-ranking Syrian officials were also killed and wounded.
Iranian and Syrian media reported that the attack occurred while Iranian intelligence officials and representatives of the Syrian military were meeting. Iran’s military has announced that it will retaliate against Israel’s Zionist government, which has been selectively assassinating high-ranking military officers.
