Bago Division, Nyaunglaypin District, Kyauk Daga Township, The National Unity Government – NUG announced today that 41 military council soldiers were killed and more than 40 were injured during the fighting that took place in Namza village on July 19. Namza village is located near the old Yangon-Mandalay road, which is only more than 100 miles away from Yangon city.

Out of the 48 injured, 20 are being treated as inpatients at Taungngo Hospital, and 8 more seriously injured soldiers died, bringing the total to 41. During the battle, a joint KNLA/PDF joint force soldier was killed and another was injured, according to the statement. A local resident said that the local people are fleeing to safety due to the threatening flights of airplanes in the vicinity of Namza village.
